Magesi beat Arrows in race for red-hot striker

DStv Premiership new club Magesi FC has agreed to sign former Casric Stars and Baroka FC striker Decide Chauke.

The 28-year-old's good season at Stars has attracted interest from the likes of Lamontville Golden Arrows and Sekhukhune United.

But according to a source, it is Magesi who has won the race for Chauke.

"Decide Chauke and Magesi have both reached an agreement. Golden Arrows and Sekhukhune United were interested in giving him a chance in the big league," a close source tells KickOff.

"This is something that happened on Saturday. He has been offered a two-year deal at Magesi.

"What's left now is for Decide Chauke to leave Giyani and come and stay in Polokwane, which is where Magesi is based.

"Once Chauke gets here, he will then put pen to paper. Sekhukhune United and Golden Arrows were interested, but Magesi were more serious."

The Limpopo-based side will be playing topflight football next season after finishing in first position in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

They are coached by former Manning Rangers and Orlando Pirates midfielder Clinton Larsen.
