Season 2 of Kaizer Chiefs X Kappa heats up!

After running rampant in a 5-2 win over Qatari outfit Al Shahaniya in Turkiye this weekend, Kaizer Chiefs have now provided a small update over the release of their new 2024/25 kits. Here's a look!

The story

Amakhosi landed in Turkiye earlier this month on 5 July for their pre-season preparations following an underwhelming 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign which saw them finish ninth on the league table.

The club have kept their preparations under the wraps, with the reports that they also played other teams behind closed doors.

On Saturday, however, they came up against a newly promoted team to the Qatar top-flight, Al Shahaniya, and claimed an impressive 5-2 win thanks to four goals by Ranga Chivaviro and one by youngster Mfundo Vilakazi.

With new coach Nasrredine Nabi at the helm, redemption seems to be on the cards for the Soweto giants and the club are just days away from revealing their new attire before playing in the 2024 Toyota Cup in Mangaung.

On Sunday, the club officially confirmed that the team will play in their new kit this coming weekend when they play against Tanzanian side Young Africans.

Notably the club also announced that their store at the Village will be closed for the whole week as they prepare for a big opening once the jersey is available.

The news comes after much anticipation, as fans had begun to speculate after several kit leaks surfaced online.

"The Kaizer Chiefs store at the Village will be closed from Monday 22 July to 26 July to prepare the store for reopening with the sale of the new 2024/25 jersey," read a statement by the club on X.

"The jersey will be unveiled on Thursday 25 July and the team will appear in the new kit in the Toyota Cup against Young Africans on Sunday 28 July at the Toyota Stadium in Bloem.

"The jersey will also be sold in Bloem on Saturday (activation) and Sunday (Stadium)."
