Euro giants identify Klopp as a top target

Former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has become the target for a big European team in the future.

Klopp spent nine years at Anfield, where he guided the team to every major trophy available, including ending the club's 30-year wait for a Premier League title.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund tactician has now emerged a target for the German national team should Julian Nagelsmann.

German Football Director Rudi Voller admitted it would be hard to look past Klopp as the next coach.

"I don't even know what Jurgen would like to do," Voller told Aktuelle Sportstudio, as per Goal.

"If Julian Nagelsmann were to decide at some point that he would rather coach a top club again then of course, there is no way around Jurgen Klopp if he wants to."

A couple months ago, Klopp hinted that he may take an indefinite leave from coaching.

"At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs – no club, no country," said the German, as per thisisanfield.

"I'm going to do some work. I'm too young to only do padel tennis and grandchildren. Will that be [as a] coach again? I would actually rule that out at the moment.

"Let's see what it will look like in a few months. Nothing is coming through at the moment."
