'Time to get the ball rolling'

Marumo Gallants captain Edgar Manaka believes they can now get moving up the standings on the back of their first league victory.

After three defeats, Gallants recorded their first win in the league against AmaZulu FC and will hope to build on that despite their next league fixture coming a month later.

TS Galaxy – who are without a point after three games - will be the visitors at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium in Botshabelo on Saturday (15:00).

"There are no easy fixtures in the Betway Premiership," points out Manaka.

"We knew that we have a new team and not new faces in the league and as a new group we had to go through that phase.

"But now that we are over that, we will definitely start grinding results," he notes, while sharing his insight on the club's relocation.

"Most of the players in our squad are well-travelled having played in different towns.

"So, it has only been the interaction between the supporters and the club, of which we have been received very well.

"The biggest plus for us is having coach Dan (Malesela) coming back to the same environment that he has been in before.

"Now that we have started getting positive results, it is about getting the ball rolling and taking each game as it comes," says Manaka, adding word on his ability to keep going at 35.

"The most important thing for footballers is to keep playing, no matter where you are playing or which level you are playing (at).

"It might be the Motsepe Foundation (Championship), the Betway (Premiership) or the third division, you have to keep playing because once you stop, it is difficult to come back.

"I have seen so many players struggling to come back, but I told myself that I keep playing. Wherever I am, I have to keep playing football," he adds.
