Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena has shared an update on his situation with the Moroccan giants following the club's latest setback in the Botola Pro League.
Wydad played to a 1-1 stalemate in a league match against eighth-placed Olympic Safi at the Stade El Massira Stadium on Wednesday evening. Mokwena's team took an early advantage when Oussama Zemraoui scored in the third minute.
However, Mehdi Ashabi equalized for Safi in the 86th minute, resulting in a draw at their home ground. The draw meant that Wydad have now recorded six consecutive draws in the league, yet they remained unbeaten in 2025.

The Casablanca-based giants held onto third place in the Botola Pro League standings with 45 points from 27 matches. They are currently six points behind second-placed AS FAR.
Mokwena and his Red Castle players are facing a significant challenge to secure a top-two finish and maintain their CAF Champions League qualification hopes as their results continue to decline.
The 38-year-old South African coach, who had already disclosed that he will leave the club when the 2024/25 season concludes, has reiterated his intentions while also emphasizing that he leaves everything in the hands of Wydad president Hicham Ait Menna.
"It's up to the president,I have already said that at the end [of the season] I will leave, So that's the situation," Mokwena told the media after the match.
"I love Wydad, I will only coach Wydad in Morocco so If I leave I leave as a Wydad and when you say Dima Wydad, you say Dima Wydad forever and It's just to thank the president. He's been amazing.
"I think Wydad has the best president in Morocco, maybe in Africa. The players have given me everything of the best, the staff have been good, But Wydad is a big club, they deserve to win and maybe they deserve a better coach than me.

"Of course they've got they've got every right to be emotional. They love their club and you can feel it, you know in other places for a big club to be number three is a good season But with Wydad to be number three is not a good season, but also if you take into account where we were last year, number six now number three," he added.
"So we are there and the club will come back, the club will rise again. It's a big club and it's a good club. Its got incredible fans and I think this club will come back."
