Al Ahly boss 'upsets' Tau

The head coach of Al Ahly has reportedly upset Percy Tau with his latest decision.

There has been significant speculation surrounding the Witbank native's future at the Cairo International Stadium in recent weeks.

The 30-year-old attacker's current contract with the Egyptian giants expires at the end of the season, and it has been alleged that the club are eager to part ways with the reigning CAF Interclubs Player of the Year as soon as the next transfer window.

Tau has not started a match for the Club of the Century since their 2-1 triumph over Ceramica Cleopatra FC in the Egyptian Super Cup last month, and it seems that he may not be starting for Marcel Koller anytime soon.

According to One3, the Bafana Bafana attacker was not utilised in any of the team's formations during training preparations ahead of the match against Stade d'Abidjan, something that has angered him.

The same report claims that the former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker has refused to be treated as a peripheral figure by the Swiss tactician, only given minutes towards the end of matches.

It is alleged that Tau has requested the remaining monies on his contract to facilitate a departure during the January transfer window if Koller feels his services are surplus to requirements.
