Chiefs blow? Nabi's headache gets worse...

Despite salvaging a point against TS Galaxy in the latest Betway Premiership match, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi is seemingly faced with a fresh headache with the loss of another key player.

Chiefs needed an added-time equaliser from Ranga Chivaviro to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Monday.

Orlando Pirates development product Samukele Kabini drew first blood at the visitors with an opening goal in what was an action-packed first half largely dominated by The Rockets.

The Soweto giants took the game to Galaxy in the second half and were finally rewarded in added time when Chivaviro latched on to a rebound off the crossbar from a vicious corner kick by substitute Happy Mashiane.

The wingback had come on as a replacement for Rushwin Dortley, who had gone off injured. The 22-year-old attempted to continue but ultimately had to be stretchered off the field.

The severity of Dortley's injury is yet to be revealed by the club, but it comes as a major blow for Nabi, who went into Monday's encounter already with six players nursing injuries.

Gaston Sirino, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Bradley Cross, Edson Castillo, Dillan Solomons, and Brandon Petersen are all out of action.

From a defensive perspective, the head coach will have to go back to the drawing board and find another solution as the evergreen Dortley becomes a fourth casualty in the defensive line.

Meanwhile, Bongani Sam is edging closer to full fitness but is still not ready for competitive action, while Given Msimango has missed the side's last two matches due to illness.

Chiefs will have two weeks of preparation and will be aiming to have some of these players back in action when they do battle with Chippa United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 29 December.
