Pirates fall into Ribeiro’s palm just like Chiefs

Lucas Ribeiro Costa will reach a dozen appearances against Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, sitting on more goal contributions than matches played against the two Soweto giants.

Mamelodi Sundowns will be on the N1 South to FNB Stadium on Sunday for their 58th PSL era league meeting against Pirates.

In their team bus will be the Brazilian menace who has made it a habit to hurt both of his club's biggest rivals on the domestic front.

Ribeiro Costa already has nine goal contributions against Chiefs in seven matches played since he arrived at the beginning of last season.

Four have been goals, while five were assists, which explains why Amakhosi are wetting their pants in fear at the thought of coming up against Ribeiro Costa should Sundowns go through to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup.

The 26-year-old has played in every game against the Naturena-based side since he arrived at Chloorkop.

Pirates have not been spared the rod.

The Brazilian forward has six goal contributions (three goals and three assists) against Bucs in four matches.

Half of that total came just last month when he scored twice and provided an assist in the 4-1 win.

Luckily for Pirates, he missed last season's MTN8 final.

Whatever planning Jose Riveiro will have for Sundowns, it will have plenty sketches around Ribeiro Costa.

He has scored in every match against Chiefs and Pirates this season.
