Man Utd want African star in a big 'swap deal'

Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign an African superstar in a big swap deal at the end of the season.

Rasmus Hojlund has been the Red Devils main striker this campaign, but he has only scored eight in 32 appearances across all competitions this campaign.

Joshua Zirkzee was also brought in from Genoa, but has been featuring the number ten role under Ruben Amorim.

United have been linked with a few strikers ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, but TalkSPORT claim that Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen is likely to be the main target.

TalkSPORT's Alex Crooks claimed that Hojlund could return to Italy but in a potential swap deal with Napoli for Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray.

"(Hugo) Ekitike has been played down to me today. I'm not sure he's in any desperate rush to leave his current club.

"I think (Victor) Osimhen is the most likely because I think he's going to be available for the type of price that United can afford.

"I think his wage demands have come down from where they were a year ago, obviously he's been playing in Turkey, and I think he has that proven pedigree.

"So it wouldn't surprise me if Hojlund goes back to Italy, and there's interest from the likes of Napoli I'm told, and Osimhen comes in the opposite direction."
