According to reports from the continent, an African giant is said to have made contact with outgoing Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro as a potential hire for the upcoming season.
Recently, the Buccaneers announced that the Spanish tactician will leave at the end of the season following the expiry of his three-year contract.
The 49-year-old has done a good job since joining the Sea Robbers in 2022, securing five trophies and finishing as runners-up to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership over the past two seasons.

Conversely, Koller’s future with the Red Devils is reportedly in doubt, with reports claiming he might leave the club due to his rift disagreements with the club’s management.
The Swiss gaffer, who took over at Ahly in 2022, has led the team to several domestic and continental titles, including the Egyptian Premier League and CAF Champions League.
In light of Koller’s uncertainty, reports from North Africa indicate that Al Ahly have reached out to Riveiro, as they consider him as a potential successor for the 64-year-old coach.
"Al Ahly club has already contacted the Spanish coach," a source told Egyptian publication One3.news.
"Al Ahly officials have contacted the Spanish coach via Zoom meeting to find out all his requests, as well as his aspirations and future plans.

"And if he takes over the technical leadership of the team in the coming period, in the event that Swiss Marcel Koller, the current coach of Al Ahly club, leaves.
"Al Ahly club officials have not yet made a final decision regarding Jose, and the coach is still awaiting a response from Al Ahly management, especially in light of the several calls and offers he has received from other clubs."
Ahly will face off against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League semi-finals, while Riveiro’s Pirates lock horns with Pyramid FC in the same round.
