For all the difficulties that he has endured since his time at Kaizer Chiefs, Kgaogelo Sekgota now has to dig deep for another opportunity in the lower divisions.
Sekgota has now marked five years since he returned from Portugal in January 2020 through a loan spell with Bidvest Wits.
That time at Wits was encouraging despite not scoring a goal in his 15 appearances.

From there, he showed flashes of brilliance at Moroka Swallows where he scored thrice in 26 appearances during the season he spent there which then led to a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
If Chiefs felt they had found gold in Sekgota it only then turned into the opposite as he left without scoring for all the 48 appearances that he was given on the wing.
Stellenbosch then took a gamble, but the relationship lasted only six months before player and club parted ways.
The 27-year-old played 17 games in half a season and scored just once but couldn't play matches from start to finish or provide assists.
Next up was a move to Magesi where he played nine matches without scoring and was again not been able to play even a single game from start to finish.
This means in five years back in South Africa, Sekgota has been to five clubs and scored only four goals.
He is now seeking another opportunity with Upington City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship where he has now spent over a month since he was released by Magesi in January.
"We are in the process of signing him," confirms Brandon Truter, the Upington coach.

"It was a setback for him to be released at his previous clubs, but we have him with us here and it is progressing well.
"If we get it right with him, he will serve a purpose not only for this season but even into the next," Truter tells KickOff.com.
Sekgota left home before he had played any professional football locally heading out to Lithuania where he played for Stumbras before switching to Vitoria Setubal in Portugal.
