Shalulile's coach: The value that Peter brings to the team

Namibia coach Collin Benjamin has showered admiration on striker Peter Shalulile following the Brave Warriors' draw against Equatorial Guinea in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Monday.

The Brave Warriors shared the spoils with the National Thunder after a 1-1 stalemate, with Shalulile netted for Namibia just six minutes into the second half before the opponents leveled the score three minutes later.

The Mamelodi Sundowns talisman's strike on the day ended his 12-match goal drought in the Brave Warriors colours, which dates back to March 2023

Post-match in Polokwane, Benjamin spoke highly of the diligent Shalulile, describing him as a patriot after aiding his team in securing a crucial point.

"The value that Peter Shalulile brings to the team for the to amplify it again, absolute professional," Benjamin told the media after the match.

"Absolute patriotic, a leader on and off the field. He's the first one that carries back onto a bus or off the airport. And all of these things off the field that he does are par excellence. But then on scoring because he's got quality, he's really a good player.

''And I mean, you in South Africa can attest to that. The last game we played against Malawi, it was a assist from him.

"So, the value is much more than just for him to score goals. Peter Shalulile on the field, the opponent has said that we have to be careful. And that's already plastered a prince. Jocelyn and whoever is in this position can then play for it,' he added.

"So, Shalulile be there, he's Namibian and he's proud to be and we're very happy to have him. We wish him all the best and hopefully that record here in South Africa is going to stay till now.''

Shalulile and his Namibia teammates will be in action again when the World Cup qualifiers campaign resumes in September 2025.
