Durban City open 8-point lead in the Championship

Durban City strengthened their grip at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship after a 1-0 win over Upington City on Friday.

Played on a wet Chatsworth surface, the Team of Choice were buoyant from the start though Bafana Ba Gucci held their own to go to the break goalless.

The scales tipped in the favour of the Team of Choice when a slice of good fortune saw Givemore Khupe head into his own net and gave them all the points.

The Durban outfit have now opened an eight-point lead at the top of the standings.

Orbit College 0-1 Highbury FC

Orbit College winless run in the Motsepe Foundation Championship extended to five matches after a 1-0 loss to Highbury FC in Rustenburg on Saturday.

The host barren streak continues and furthermore derails their title aspirations, while Highbury steady run of form leaves them in the top-half.
