Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena has reportedly made a huge plea to the club's management amid rumours that he could be dismissed following their exit from the Moroccan Throne Cup.
The Red Castle faced elimination from the cup tournament after a disappointing 1-0 loss to Moghreb Tetuán in a Round of 16 match held at the Saniat Rmel stadium on Saturday evening.
Given that Wydad were certainly considered the favorites to win the match, the outcome in Tétouan was a letdown for the club's president Hicham Ait Menna, his board members, and the supporters.

After the match, reports surfaced suggesting that Mokwena and the club's board members met to discuss future options. There are indications that the club is considering terminating his contract.
Mokwena himself expressed dissatisfaction with his team's performance against Moghreb. However, Analkhabar.com reports that the 38-year-old coach has requested the management to allow him the opportunity to change the situation.
Furthermore, it is reported that most of the board members, except President Ait Menna, who appears to have faith in the coach, are advocating for the coach's exit before the Casablanca Derby against Raja AC on Saturday.

The South African coach has faced a tough season as he is also vying for a CAF Champions League spot, with his team currently sitting in third place with only five matches remaining.
Wydad are two points behind the second-placed AS FAR Rabat, while RSB Berkane have already been crowned the 2024/25 Botola Pro League champions.
Should the Wydad management decide to retains Mokwena, all remaining matches will be crucial for the former Mamelodi Sundowns manager as he tries to save his position at the club.
