There were few scoring opportunities throughout with both sides defending well.
In the 15th minute Cosmos had the best opportunity to score when a free-kick from the edge of the box taken by Thapelo Tshilo was well saved by keeper Moeneeb Josephs.
Cosmos did have the ball in the back of the Wits goal in the 78th minute when a cross by Dikgang Mabalane (pictured) hit Lethola Mofokeng on the hand to cross the goalline, the referee disallowed the goal and gave Mofokeng a yellow card.
In the end a draw was a fair result.
