Thipa Selala from the Polokwane municipality confirmed to KickOff that the upcoming Betway Premiership match will be moved to a different venue.
"No, the pitch at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium will not be able to accommodate the game on Saturday," Selala stated.

Selala acknowledged that the new Peter Mokaba Stadium pitch sustained significant damage during the recent festival. After a thorough assessment, it has been determined that the pitch requires extensive repairs and will not be able to host the scheduled Premiership matches this weekend, and possibly not even in January 2025.
"To ensure the continuity of these fixtures, we have initiated discussions with all relevant stakeholders to relocate the matches to the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Meanwhile, plans are underway to refurbish the damaged pitch and restore it to the required standard in preparation for upcoming Betway PSL Premiership fixtures."
"We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards for our facilities and ensuring minimal disruption to scheduled events. Updates will be provided as the refurbishment progresses," Selala added.
