Sulley Muntari wants Inter Milan exit

A bad year for the Ghanaian midfielder is getting worse under the former Liverpool manager relegated him to the stands in his Inter team.

And Muntari who is never far away from a confrontation has reacted by declaring he will be happy to move on because he just does not want to be picking up a salary.

The Ghanaian angered Benitez by storming out of the San Siro when he was not named in the side to play Juventus last Sunday and even though he apologised later his latest statement will do little to the repair the damage that incident caused.

“Going away? Why not? I am a football player, not someone to just pick up his salary,” he told skysports.com.

“I love football and want to play every day. I am an ambitious player and want to play every day.

“My place is not in the stands; my place is on the field. When I don’t play, I’ve let myself down, the fans and everyone.”

Muntrai joined Inter Milan from Portsmouth in 2008, establishing himself as a first team regular in his first season under Jose Mourinho but he played less in his second season under the same boss as they won a historic treble.

His latest troubles also add up to a year of frustrations for the player. He was dropped from Ghana’s squad that reached the finals of the 2010 Nations Cup and even though he went along to the 2010 World Cup, was only a bit part player in Milovan Rajevac’s squad and has lost his place since then.
