Benin coach receives special praise ahead of Bafana clash

Benin coach Gernot Rohr has received some special praise ahead of his side's clash against Bafana Bafana on Tuesday.

The Cheetahs resumed their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-2 draw against Zimbabwe on Thursday.

The draw has seen Benin slip to second spot in Group C, two points adrift of leaders Bafana who they face next.

Zimbabwe coach Michael Nees gave some special praise to Rohr after Thursday's draw in Durban.

"This is a very good team, Benin. It is not by chance their standing on the table," the Zimbabwean coach said, as per All Nigeria Soccer.

"The coach (Gernot Rohr) is an experienced coach, working with them over two years and it's not by chance they beat Nigeria."

Rohr, also previously coached Nigeria, will be targeting nothing less than three points against South Africa on home soil.
