SuperSport United player Abubeker Nasir has made a heartfelt admission after scoring a hat-trick for Ethiopia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Nasir's injury struggles since arriving in South Africa in June 2022 to join Mamelodi Sundowns are well documented.

The winger has played just under 600 minutes in all competitions in almost three years, having been unable to stay fit for a consistent period.
Nasir was called up to the Ethiopia national team, despite not yet making his debut for Matsatsantsa since joining them in October 2024.
Nevertheless, the 25-year-old's selection proved valuable to his national team, as he played an inspiring role during their recent qualifier against Seychelles.
Nasir scored three goals in a 6-1 mauling of Djibouti on Monday, and has since expressed what it means to him to return to the national team after a two-year hiatus.
"For me to score a goal after two years makes me very happy. Because it has been two years since I have played for the national side," said Nasir, according to PanAfrica Football.
"The goals will motivate me to do more. We badly needed the result so we deserved to win."
Nasir also gave plaudits to coach Mesay Teferi, adding: "I want to thank the coach. He gave me the opportunity to play for the national team again. I want to develop as a player and assist the national team to notch positive results."
