The France international, who is out of contract at the end of this season, ranks among some of the highest-regarded stars who could be available on a free transfer next year.
With no new deal yet agreed with the Red Devils, the 28-year-old will be allowed to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice come January.
The next window could also be the last opportunity for United to sell the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner for a fee, with there being reported interest from his former club Juventus, among others.
His agent, Raiola, certainly did not put any rumours to bed when asked to comment on Pogba's future recently, and appeared to suggest that a move in January could be on the cards for the player.
"It's too early to speak about Paul Pogba's contract [with Manchester United]. Let's see what happens. I can't stop anyone from dreaming about him," he told TMW.
"December is the month of dreams... and I can't stop dreams, but it is better to not speak about Paul.
"If some former Man United players don't speak about me and Paul, they won't work anymore."
