Ballon d'Or: Cristiano Ronaldo finishing fourth in the 2019 Golden Ball award?

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is believed to have missed out on a podium finish for the Ballon d'Or for the first time since 2010.

Ronaldo, 34, was named amongst the 30 nominees for the 2019 Golden Ball honour that's awarded by France Football.

Currently tied on a record fifth title alongside FC Barcelona captain, a leaked image on social media revealed the final votes of the latest edition that will be announced this evening.

It's been reported on Mediaset Italia that Messi will walk away with a record sixth Ballon d'Or with 446 points to his name, while Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane will complete the top three.

As a result, Ronaldo, with only 133 points, will take fourth place for 2019, which will be the first time he misses out on a podium finish in nine years.

The legendary forward has been struggling to reach top form by his usual standards with Juve this season, with only seven goals and two assists in 16 games across all competitions.
