The top scorers at Euro 2020 so far, Cristiano Ronaldo tops the pile

With the quarter-finals starting today, there has been no shortage of goals at the 2020 UEFA European Championship. Here are the leading scorers in the competition so far, including Cristiano Ronaldo!

With the Euros now approaching its penultimate stages, there have been 123 goals scored in 44 matches, with only two of those games finishing goalless.

Some of the leading scorers of the tournament thus far have unfortunately already been knocked out along with their teams, including France's Karim Benzema, the Netherlands' Gini Wijnaldum, and Poland's Robert Lewandowski.

However, the epic battle for Euro 2020's Golden Boot award is set to continue, with the likes of Patrik Schick, Romelu Lukaku and Raheem Sterling all being able to add to their tallies.

Unsurprisingly, the top scorers list is dominated by forwards, all of whom represent different nations except for two Dutch stars, but no player has managed to score a hat-trick yet.

The man who is currently top of the pile, Portugal's Ronaldo, has already scored more times than the Golden Boot winners of Euro 2008 (David Villa, four goals) and 2012 (Fernando Torres, Mario Gomez, Alan Dzagoev, three goals each), and is one behind the winner of the 2016 edition (Antoine Griezmann, six goals).

Ronaldo will not be able to add to his tally, though, as A Selecao were dumped out of the competition last weekend – click through the gallery above to see who the top scorers, and how many times they have hit the back of the net, at Euro 2020 so far are!
