'I compare Rele to Roger Federer'

Rave reviews have continued to flood in for Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng after his showing for Bafana Bafana, with Mandla Masango the latest to weigh in on his impressive performances.

Mofokeng has been a revelation since being made a regular by Jose Riveiro at Orlando Pirates last season and has emerged as arguably the most exciting youngster in the country.

To say bums fly from seats whenever he is in possession of the ball would be an understatement.

The 20-year-old's talent and form has been rewarded with regular call-ups to the national team by Hugo Broos.

The Vaal native showed glimpses of his bright talent in the Bafana shirt after he was introduced in the latter stages of the game in the final AFCON qualifier against South Sudan.

With the team 3-0 up, Mofokeng lifted the mood with his confidence and skills on the ball, as he entertained a cheerful crowd at the DHL Cape Town Stadium.

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Masango, also regarded as one of the best attacking players during his time in the elite league, has commented on the 20-year-old's talent.

"He's an amazing player. He is one for the future, if he can just keep his head down. He's a very humble boy. I normally compare him to Roger Federer," Masango said on 947's MSW.

"If you are a tennis lover, you would understand how Roger Federer used to play. Everything that he did was flawless. Nothing forced. He made tennis look easier. That's what Rele is doing.

"You can see the way he's so matured, decision-making, top notch. He knows when to dribble, when to release the ball. You can have all the talent in the world, but also you need to work hard and be humble. Before you are Rele the footballer, you are a human being. I wish him all the best," the ex-Bafana attacker added.

Mofokeng was linked with an overseas move, to teams such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Rangers and Levante in the previous transfer window but so far stayed on to continue to wow local crowds with his scintillating skills.
