Leading brands flock to Soccerex Africa Forum

A selection of African sport’s key sponsors consisting of regional and global brands Nedbank Group Marketing, SAB Miller and Sasol will be discussing the opportunities that are offered to them as a result of their association with the game and the benefits that are attached to being a sponsor of sport throughout the continent.

Divisional Executive Sydney Mbhele will be on the panel to discuss Nedbank’s sponsorship partnerships throughout the continent and their current sponsorship of ‘The Nedbank Cup’, South Africa’s premier knockout competition.  Through the Goals4Goals campaign, in partnership with The Sports Trust, Nedbank also donated R1 million towards the building of a multipurpose sports court for a deserving school.  The company have also launched the Nedbank Ke Yona Team which offers amateur soccer players a chance to succeed in a career in football.

Sponsorship Manager Errol Madlala will also be featuring on the panel to discuss SAB Miller’s rise to one of the republic’s most successful multinational corporations.  SAB Miller is the premier sponsor for the South African Football Team, the team sponsor of the South African Cricket Team and associate sponsor of the South African Rugby Team amongst other deals and Madlala will be giving an overview on the opportunities that have arisen from these sponsorships.

Madlala and Mbhele willn be joined by Dumisani Mbokane a Sponsorship Specialist at SASOL, who sponsor The South African national women’s football team, The South African Paralympics and The men’s national wheelchair basketball team as well as The Sasol League that was launched in February 2009 as a provincial women’s league.  Mbokane will be discussing the channels that are available through tournaments and the way that sponsorship can enhance a brand’s image.
