Despite a 2-0 defeat to Mali in their first match at AFCON, Bafana returned guns blazing with 4-0 hammering of Namibia on matchday two, and did well to hold back Tunisia to secure a point and progress to the knout stages.
Speaking on SABC Sport after Tuesday's match, Mngqithi provided his honest assessment of Bafana Bafana and Broos so far.
"To be honest with you, like I said at the beginning of a the match, It's not a day to be pessimistic," Mngqithi said.
"It's a day to rally behind our team because the coach [Broos] showed belief in his team.
"In all his interviews he showed that he believes in this team and I personally believe in this team.
"I was worried abut injuries to [Khuliso] Mudau and Mothobi [Mvala] leading to the match but we saw that they were going to the match, I said this team must never be taken for granted.
