Bantwana arrive early in Uruguay to start preparing for the U-17 Women's World Cup

Bantwana were the first team to arrive in Uruguay when they landed on Sunday, after flying via Brazil. South Africa are in Group B with Brazil, Japan and Mexico.

Bantwana open their campaign with a clash against Mexico on November 13 and then take on Japan three days later. Brazil will be their final group opponents on November 20.

"We opted to come to Uruguay so that we can acclimatise. It's windy here and we come from a space where it's very hot. So we want to breathe it all in, see how thick or thin it is and just get to see the area, the training sites and get to familiarise ourselves with the place," Dludlu told SAFA Media.

"Coming in early is going to work great for us because we will familiarise ourselves with everything."

It was a long trip for Bantwana who slept over for one night in Brazil before heading to Uruguay.

"I think the journey has been long. It's all worth it and it's part of sport. And I think the girls have enjoyed it. We are exhausted and we want to rest so that we can hit the ground running. But yeah it's been great."
