SA kick-off) to advance to the semi-finals of the event following wins
over defending champions Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
The national women's side have never won the tournament, having finished runners-up in the last two editions of the event and four times in total since first participating in 1991.
The Women's AFCON also serves as qualifier for the Women's World Cup.
Ellis said: "The aim is to win the match because it helps the team confidence-wise, with momentum and everything. We are not taking our foot off the pedal or going to lose focus of why we are here. It's important that we keep playing the way we want to play.
"We want to take it game by game, and the next game is Zambia. We'll analyse and put a plan together. It does help when the team is playing well and you are winning - it give confidence to the players, which I think is so important."
Ellis was naturally pleased with her team's 7-1 thrashing of Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday - their biggest ever victory in the competition.
"It was good for the team that we had a couple of goal scorers, which helps a lot. Even Amanda (Mthandi) got a goal in the second match, which is really fantastic," she said. "Mpumi (Nyandeni) got a goal coming in as well and Linda (Motlhalo) scored, Jermaine (Seoposenwe) scored, Thembi (Kgatlana) scored, 'Fifi' (Refiloe Jane) scored, so that was really fantastic.
"It's nice to spread the goals around so you do not rely on individuals. The beauty of it is that we are creating and like you said, it could have been more in the second half. But we didn't let that get to us, we just continued playing."
