Jane made her 95th appearance for the senior women’s team in an emphatic victory over Equatorial Guinea at the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana on Wednesday. Jane, who was played at two Olympics with Banyana, was on the score sheet as Banyana hammered the West Africans 7-1 in a Group B match.
Jane has been a loyal servant to Banyana and recently earned herself an overseas move to Australian side Canberra United, which was long overdue.
Should she reach the century mark, she will join legends such as Portia Modise, Amanda Dlamini and Nompumelelo Nyandeni.
Jane will be in action again when Banyana take on Zambia in their final group match to be played in Accra on Saturday.
Having already qualified for the Olympics twice, Jane would now love to help Banyana achieve World Cup qualification for the first time in their history. Looking at how they’ve started in the Cup of Nations, they certainly have a good chance of booking themselves a spot in next year’s showpiece set to be played in France.
