CAF Champions League match report Kaizer Chiefs v PWD Bamenda 05 December 2020

Chiefs opted to rest Ramahlwe Mphahlele from the first-leg, but continued with captain Itumeleng Khune between the sticks while Anthony Akumu Agay and Siphelele Ntshangase were also given starts.

Khama Billiat was given a golden chance to put the Amakhosi ahead two minutes in, but was unable to capitalise with Haschou Kerrido pulling off a save in the end.

Philani Zulu further upped the home side's momentum eight minutes later with a cross-cum shot from out wide nearly catching Haschou out at the far post.

Chiefs didn't stop probing midway through the first half, as a free-kick from Lebohang Manyama who had drawn a foul near the area brought Haschou to a superb save.

Given a rare outing, Akumu failed to make the most of a goal-ridden chance on the half-hour mark as the Zambian fired the opportunity wide of target.

The Amakhosi added more firepower following the start of the second half, as Leonardo Castro replaced Ntshangase with the visitors unchanged. Soon after, Bernard Parker should've gifted Chiefs a deserved lead ten minutes after the break, but he was unable to beat Haschou from inside the area.

Castro looked to make his presence felt in the latter phases of the match with a left-footed shot from close-range, but went narrowly wide.

The Colombian was in on goal again as fulltime loomed and the Cameroonians backing off, but just as the previous effort drew blanks.

Khune was given rare work from the Cameroonian side in the closing minutes, but dealt with it all comfortably as the match concluded.

Chiefs: Khune , Moleko, Mathoho, Cardoso, Zulu, Agay, Ngcobo, Ntshangase, Manyama, Parker, Billiat
