Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Casablanca settled for a share of the spoil in their CAF Champions League Group C clash on Saturday night.
Hlompho Kekana and Andile Jali partnered in midfield for the first time in Champions League this campaign, with Themba Zwane returning to the line-up alongside Denis Onyango.
Sundowns were knocked out by the Moroccans in the semi-final last season, but they almost got the breakthrough from a header from Motjeka Madisha that sailed just wide.
Wydad threatened the opener following the half-hour mark, but solid defending from the South African champions put the Moroccans well off guard.
Sundowns responded in the final minute of the half when Morena went through one-on-one for the opener, but Wydad shot-stopper Ahmed Tagnaouti was on hand to make the save.

Gaston Sirino cautioned the Moroccans earlier in the second period after dancing through the defence, but his shot was met by a towering defence.
A double substitution from the Brazilians following the 60th minute saw Lebohang Maboe and Sphelele Mkhulise enter for Jose Ali Meza and Zwane as Pitso Mosimane looked to snatch a winner.
The changes from Mosimane put the Moroccan heavyweights under further pressure, as Sirino thumped in a powerful shot from range which sailed agonisingly wide in the final 14 minutes.
Masandawana pushed and pushed towards the opener, but were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in North Africa, although they remain on top of Group C.
