Kekana and his teammates are gunning for their second star in the CAF Champions League after winning it 2016 and are in Morocco preparing for their next group stage match against Wydad Casablanca on Saturday (21h00).
The Brazilians and Buccaneers remain the only two teams in the country who have won Africa's biggest prize.
"As a villager growing up in a village, I remember watching Pirates playing ASEC Mimosas whilst still at school," said Kekana.
"The pride and joy we got in that match was huge and for some of us it has been a dream come true to play in the Champions League.

"I remember when we started the Champions League we went to play in Lubumbashi and it was a huge experience, and we learnt a lot from that game. For me to play and win the Champions league is very special to me."
Both Kekana and Pitso Mosimane have won several major competitions together but his coach also picks the CAF Champions League medal as particularly special.
"When you watch the match [in 2016] it's like it happened yesterday, it's unbelievable," said Mosimane.
"I don't remember the feeling of winning the Telkom Knockout Cup but the memories of the CAF Champions League are still fresh."
