Milutin Sredojevic: Zamalek president Mortada Mansour explains why he sacked Micho

The Egyptian giants confirmed on Monday that Sredojevic had been relieved of his duties by mutual consent after defeats to ENPPI and TP Mazembe.

After being publically backed by a host of influential figures in the White Knights squad, Mansour revealed why it was imperative for the former Orlando Pirates coach to leave.

"I didn't want for Micho to leave, you win and lose in football," Mansour explained via his official Youtube channel, as translated from Arabic.

"But it was unacceptable for the players to support him on social media and shake the board's authority."

Mansour has since confirmed that former Al Ahly, Raja Casablanca and Mazembe head coach Patrice Carteron has replaced 'Micho' within the hot seat of the CAF Confederation Cup champions.

"Carteron was successful with Raja and Wadi Degla, despite Maged Samy's [Wadi Degla president] lack of generosity," Mansour enthused.

"He also reached the CAF Champions League final with Al Ahly, despite not having decent players."

Mansour concluded that details over Carteron's contract will be revealed after their Champions League fixture against Primeiro de Agosto at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday evening.
