Pitso Mosimane could bring Santa Claus to Chloorkop Christmas party due to CAF Champions League fixtures

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane could bring Santa Claus to Chloorkop before the squad leaves for Algeria around Christmas time.

The Brazilians face USM Alger in the CAF Champions League match on 27 December, meaning Sundowns players and technical staff could miss the chance to spend time with their families on Christmas Day.

Sundowns are currently on their way to Morocco to face Wydad Casablanca in the same competition on Friday.

Now Mosimane could be forced to host a Christmas party at Chloorkop before the squad leaves for Algeria.

"We are not used to it. It's weird for us," he admitted with regards to playing matches over the holiday period.

"When you go to EPL on Boxing Day, there is a match. When you go to EPL there is a match on 28 December. They play after two days.

"Here we play after three days, we complain. It's a soft pitch, it's in the middle of winter [in England]. It's festive season. For them its white Christmas, they are used to it.

"It will be nice if we can do something with our families and children in that space before we leave."

Sundowns' last domestic match this year is against Polokwane City at Loftus Stadium on 21 December, meaning they will only have only a few days to host any festive season activities before they will need to leave for Algeria.
