Pitso Mosimane would have preferred goals in Mamelodi Sundowns' CAF Champions League draw with Wydad Casablanca

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane would have preferred goals against Wydad Casablanca in their CAF Champions League draw on Saturday.

Sundowns secured a valuable away point after playing to a goalless draw in Morocco to help them stay on top of Group C with four points after two games.

The Brazilians beat Pedro de Luanda of Angola in Pretoria in their first group stage match about a fortnight ago.

"I think as we were expecting, the game went exactly as we expected. The game between Wydad Casablanca and Mamelodi Sundowns is always like this," Mosimane said after the match.

"If it was a draw I would have preferred 1-1 or 2-2 than 0-0 because a beautiful game like this must have goals.

"I think we started better, a game of two halves. We took the first half but last 15-20 minutes Wydad put a lot of pressure on us, but we defended clean, we didn't make mistakes as we normally do.

"I am happy we dealt with the number nine, he is a good football player, powerful. We gave him no chance to face our goals, he always played facing his goals. We know the right-wing likes to go to the line and cross and we denied him space to cross."

Sundowns are expected back in the country soon to start preparing for the Absa Premiership match against Stellenbosch at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday.

The Brazilians then fly to Durban to face Maritzburg United in the Telkom Knockout final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
