Sundowns remain unbeaten in their CAF Champions League group after beating all the three teams in Group B including Al Hilal, CR Belouizdad and TP Mazembe.
The Brazilians need to win the match against the Congolese side at Loftus Stadium this evening to assure themselves of position one on the log and a ticket to the quarter-finals.
Sundowns made history when they ended Mazembe's 74-match unbeaten record in Africa on their home patch after beating them 2-1 in Lubumbashi recently.
Mngqithi says his team is also eager to create their own story in the CAF Champions League this season.
"They know chances are getting limited, the number of games are getting smaller and smaller. We are fully aware, we are not taking anything for granted," said Mngqithi ahead of the game.
"It's not a game that will be easy. We are playing against five-times champions of the Champions League. We are playing against a formidable team, a team with a lot of pedigree.
"But Sundowns also want to write our own story and write our own history. It's important we approach this game with open minds and give best shot and hopefully after the game we should be guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals, and that's our wish."
The Brazilians are set to miss the services of defender Ricardo Nascimento after he received a red card during the first leg in DR Congo.
