Zamalek president Mortada Mansour makes Super Cup threat after shock CAF decision

Having won the Confederation Cup back in May, Zamalek were scheduled to face the winners of the African Champions League in August.

However, after disputes between Wydad Casablanca and Esperance de Tunis over the controversial final that was abandoned in the second leg, CAF postponed the fixture.

Upon the Tunisian giants officially retaining the title, CAF scheduled the fixture for 2020 but their recent announcement of the venue has not gone down well with the Cairo giants.

"I will never play the Super Cup in Qatar. How can I play the Super Cup in a country that's creating havoc in the Arab region," Mortada told IFM, as per KingFut.

"I'm willing to play the game in Tunisia, on Esperance's pitch but never in Qatar."

Mansour went on to confirm that he'd even consider not competing in Africa's premier club competition, which prize money is $5 million (R75m) less than the Arab Club Champions Cup.

"Even if CAF decides to exclude us from all African competitions, I'll participate in the Arab Club Championship, which is better."
