The Buccaneers will face Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel in a two-legged CAF Confederation Cup Final next month, having also reached the Champions League Final two years ago.
Motaung, whose side will compete in the Champions League again after winning the Absa Premiership last season, says they will give it a good go.
“Definitely we are participating … we also want to conquer,” he tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"As for Pirates, they are top-class; they've done very well. I don't know what they have in terms of Africa, but they've done so well. There is some quality knowledge they have about Africa I'm sure, but I think it also has to do with the energy they put in when playing in Africa.
“I just want to thank Mr [Irvin] Khoza and his technical team for the effort they are showing in Africa.”
