CAF chaos continues for Marumo Gallants

The chaos that has engulfed Marumo Gallants' debut campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup looks set to continue ahead of a return leg against Futuro Kings of Equatorial Guinea.

Gallants host the second leg of their first-round tie at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday, but changes were forced as the Equatorial Guinea club were yet to arrive in the country as of Friday morning.

The away side was now expected to land in Johannesburg midday on Friday before proceeding to Polokwane.

Gallants have confirmed a delayed kick-off from an initial 15:00 kick-off to an evening start at 19:00.

"Kick-off times between Marumo Gallants and Futuro Kings Football Club has been changed from 15:00 to 19:00 tonight due to the late arrival of the Equatorial Guinea club in South Africa," a statement said.

"Futuro Kings FC are expected to arrive at OR Tambo International Airport at noon today and will head straight to Polokwane for the game."

Gallants themselves endured a torrid away trip a week ago after arriving in Equatorial Guinea with just 13 squad members and without a goalkeeper.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa spent a week away from home following a trip that took them from Polokwane to Johannesburg, Addis Ababa, Malabo, Bata, Mongomo, Yaounde then back to Addis Ababa, Johannesburg and back to Polokwane.

The hosts trail 2-1 on aggregate as they look to overturn their deficit at home.
