CAF Confederation Cup match report AS Vita v Raja Casablanca 02 December 2018

Raja Casablanca entered the second leg as favourites after claiming a 3-0 win from the first-leg in Morocco last weekend.

Abdelilah Hafidi got the opener for the Moroccan side in the 21st minute with a simple finish after Vita were caught on a counter-attack to make it 4-0 on aggregate.

However, that proved to be the final act from Hafidi, who was unfortunate to pick up an injury on the half-hour mark and was replaced by Mohamed Douik.

Makusu Mundele pulled a goal back for Florent Ibenge’s charges in first-half stoppage time, bending a stunning free-kick into the top corner from just outside the box.

The hosts were still showing fighting spirit in the opening ten minutes of the second stanza, pushing forward in numbers but they were vulnerable on counter-attacks by Raja.

However, Mukoko Batezadio reduced the deficit to 4-2 on aggregate in the tie with 20 minutes remaining with a low shot inside the box.

Fabrice Ngoma set up a nervy final few minutes of the second half when he got the third goal for AS Vita on the night with a quarter of an hour remaining to make 4-3 on aggregate.

Raja were inviting the hosts into their own half by defending deep, but the approach paid off as the encounter ended 3-1 on the night but the visitors claim the title after winning 4-3 on aggregate.
