Stellenbosch FC qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup group stages for the first time ever with a 3-1 aggregate win over AS Vita.
Majority of the starting personnel from the first-leg lined up for the Maroons, including goal-scorers Lehlohonolo Mojela and Thabo Moloisane.
Mojela, who arrived at the start of the season from TS Galaxy, looked to continue his fine form and actually found the back of the net earlier on but the offside flag was raised.
Vita launched a swift reply through a teasing shot, but it went agonizingly wide with the Maroons in a spot of bother and living nervous.
The reflexes of goalkeeper Sage Stephens were required to aid the visitors out of a powerful teasing strike as pressure from Vita intensified ever further.
However, momentum swung to the Maroons who through centre-half Ismail Toure squandered a perfect chance when the Ivorian nodded over from the edge of the six-yard box.
Toure unfortunately didn't complete the game after he got his marching orders on the cusp of halftime following a second bookable offence.
Stellenbosch made a substitution before the second half and had Kyle Jurgens come in for Andre De Jong as a way to cope with the reduced personnel.
Nigerian-born Ibraheem Jabaar came close to the breakthrough with a cheeky dink around the closing quarter, but dragged well off target.
Vita, though, continued to pile on the pressure but yet again found it difficult to beat the on-song Stephens who time and again smothered their every move.
The Maroons broke through against the run of play as Mojela earned the time and space in the closing minutes and volleyed in the net to make it 3-0 on aggregate.
However, Vita got a route back at the death after winning a penalty and made good use thereof but it didn't change the overall outcome as the Maroons marched to the group stages.
