Amakhosi are already in Antananarivo, where they will do battle in their first round second leg at the Stade Municipal de Mahamasina tomorrow afternoon – kick-off is scheduled for 13h30 (SA time).
The Soweto giants take a comfortable 3-0 aggregate advantage from their first leg tie played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last weekend, but defender Mario Booysen has insisted they will not grow complacent.
“We take a 3-0 advantage into the game [but] It’s crucial to get an away goal. However, as always, we will go into the match to win,” Booysen told his club website.
Booysen previously visited Elgeco during his loan stint with SuperSport United in the 2017 Confederation Cup and, although he did not make it off the bench, remembers what sort of atmosphere to expect tomorrow afternoon.
“They have a very vocal crowd, which will give them a boost. They are a tough side, but we will be ready,” he added.
Progression to the group stage play-off round of the Confed Cup will see Chiefs take on one of the 15 losers in the CAF Champions League first round, with the draw to be held on December 28.
