Kaizer Chiefs will play Zambian giants Zesco United in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup

The Soweto giants have been handed a tricky clash against Zambian champions Zesco United in the play-off round of the competition. Zesco have dropped to the Confederation Cup after they were knocked out of the Champions

Amakhosi returned to continental club football this season after finishing third in the Absa Premiership and have beaten Zimamoto of Zanzibar and Madagascar’s ASSM Elgeco Plus to reach the play-off round of the competition.

It will be a big test for Amakhosi, who have a new man at the helm in Ernst Middendorp.

Zesco has shown in the past that they have what it takes to go far in continental club competitions. They gave Mamelodi Sundowns a tough time in the 2016 Champions League and will give Amakhosi a run for their money.

Zesco, who have far more experience than Amakhosi on the continent, were in the group stages of the Champions League in the last edition and will be looking to get to the round robin stage again this year.
