The Buccaneers are South Africa's only representative in the CAF Confederation Group Stage after Marumo Gallants' exit from the competition during the play-off leg of the tournament.
Pirates have avoided the likes of Pyramids FC, CS Sfaxien, TP Mazembe, RS Berkane and Simba after being draw in Group B in the Confederation Cup.
The South African outfit will still have to overcome stiff competition if they are to progress in the competition, however, after being pitted against Algeria's Saoura, Libya's Al Ittihad and the winner between JS Kabylie and Royal Leopards.

The first round of group stage matches will commence on 13 February 2022, with the game week six beginning on 3 April.
