Cape Town City Head of Development Grant Veitch believes that youngster Kaka Sifumba has all the attributes to reach the heights of some of South Africa's biggest exports.
Sifumba made history on the weekend when he became the youngest player ever to feature in DStv Diski Challenge, coming off the bench against Golden Arrows in Mpumalanga on Saturday.
The 15-year-old Phillipi-born sensation came on in the last 10 minutes of the to create his own history in South African football, as the Citizens' reserve side registered a 3-0 win.
"He is a special player who came here as a 9-year-old as part of our scouting system in townships around Cape Town. He is a box-to-box midfielder with a great mentality," Veitch tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"He got 10 to 12 minutes [in the game against Arrows]. It's baby steps. We're going to gradually give him more minutes and also allow him play for our SAB league team.
"There is progress, as we also want to invest in his education. We believe he has the potential of playing in Europe in the next few years.
"That's our philosophy at Cape Town City, that we want to produce more players for Europe and not keep them back in South Africa."
