Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 Orlando Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs enjoyed a perfect start to the DStv Diski Challenge with a 3-0 win over Orlando Pirates on Sunday afternoon at Bidvest Stadium.

Aden McCarthy, the son of Amakhosi legend Fabian, broke the deadlock in the 26th minute, while Sabelo Radebe doubled their lead in the 65th minute and Francis put the game to bed with the third goal nine minutes before time.

The Glamour Boys beat Pirates for the first time since 2018.

SuperSport United 2-1 Mamelodi Sundowns

SuperSport United claimed the Tshwane derby bragging rights after beating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in their opener on Saturday afternoon at Bidvest Stadium.

Sbusiso Maziko got an early opener for Matsatsantsa in the fifth minute and Thando Buthelezi levelled matters for Sundowns in the 23rd minute.

However, Maziko snatched the winner for SuperSport just after the hour-mark.

TS Galaxy 2-2 Swallows

Ten-man Swallows and Galaxy shared the spoils in a four-goal thriller in their opener on Saturday morning at Bidvest Stadium.

Sanele Gule opened the scoring for the Birds in the ninth minute but only for Xulu to equalise for the Rockets from the penalty spot in the 14th minute.

Swallows were reduced to ten men soon after that, as Siyabonga Nene, who conceded the penalty was sent off after getting a second yellow card.

However, an own goal by Kabelo Mkhize in the 24th minute restored the lead for Ashley Makhanya's charges but the Birds conceded another penalty in the last minute that was scored by Aphelele Teto, as the sides shared the spoils.

AmaZulu 1-1 Golden Arrows

AmaZulu and Golden Arrows could not be separated in the KwaZulu-Natal derby in their opener on Sunday afternoon at King Zwelithini Stadium.

Ayanda Vete broke the deadlock for Arrows in the 26th minute but Usuthu found their way back on the hour-mark thanks to penalty scored by Lindokuhle Zungu.

Abafana Bes'thende were reduced to ten men in the last six minutes after Kwanele Msomi was red-carded for a bad tackle but they managed to settle for the share of the spoils.
