'We are definitely not done' - Motaung confirms more signings for Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has confirmed that the Soweto giants are far from concluding their transfer business ahead of the new season, with three players' signatures already secured.

Amakhosi are set to herald a new era under newly-signed head coach Nasreddine Nabi as well as an all-new technical team, in a bid to put an end to what is now a nine-year spell without silverware.

Chiefs have already signed Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy, Bongani Sam from Orlando Pirates and Rushwin Dortley from Cape Town Spurs as their first three acquisitions.

Asanele Velebayi is also reportedly on the radar of Amakhosi, but that won't be all, if the sentiment from Motaung Jr is anything to go by.

"We're definitely not done in the transfer market because there are some glaring positions in the squad that we need to reinforce,"  Motaung Jr told journalists at the club's kit launch on Thursday evening.

"We have a young squad at this moment, it's a squad that needs a bit of experience and a bit of quality, so we're very mindful of the demands placed on what's coming next season.

"So, to answer the question, we're working day and night behind the scenes to make sure we reinforce – we've gotten a bit of a clear roadmap of what kind of player we need in which positions, so we're definitely working towards that."

The Betway Premiership will only commence on September 10, with Chiefs not a part of the MTN8 that will get underway on August 3.

They will have their first taste of competitive action when they take on Young Africans in the Toyota Cup on Sunday.

The match will be played at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, with kick-off at 15:00.
