Kaizer Chiefs should have been awarded a penalty in their 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United, according to former FIFA referee Victor Hlungwani.
The Naturena-based side suffered their second loss of the league campaign when they succumbed 1-0 to Matsatsantsa at New Peter Mokaba Stadium last Saturday.

Unable to turn ball possession into goals, Amakhosi were punished in the 44th minute as Tashreeq Morris put the ball in the back of the net for the only goal of the match.
However, after reviewing the match on SABC Sport's SoccerZone, Hlungwani revealed that the Soweto giants ware denied what should have been a legitimate penalty when Edson Castillo was fouled inside the SuperSport penalty area.
"Chiefs and SuperSport, there was a penalty appeal. Let's look at who kicked the ball.
"The law says kicking an opponent is a foul. So, let's look at it. The ball goes into the penalty area. 50/50, who kicked who?
"We can see that Castillo kicked the ball and then [Bilal] Baloyi, what does he do? He kicks an opponent.
"Kicking an opponent in the penalty area, a penalty should have been awarded. It was not given, unfortunately. But a penalty should have been awarded to Chiefs for kicking an opponent."

Those words will be of small comfort though to the Khosi Nation, as it was three points dropped and now Chiefs, down in ninth position on the table, have to redeem themselves against Magesi FC on Wednesday.
