Kaizer Chiefs attacker Pule Mmodi has opened up on his first season at the Soweto giants, a club he supported as a child, as he talks about why he was nervous when he arrived at Naturena.
Chiefs' pursuit of Mmodi came to a culmination when the skillful winger joined on a free ahead of last season, having opted against renewing his contract with Golden Arrows.
He went on to make 31 appearances across all competitions, the most by any Amakhosi player last term, missing just four matches.
Speaking on KC TV, the 31-year-old shed some insight into his first season at the club.
"When we [Arrows] played against Kaizer Chiefs, I knew that they had interest in me, so I had to push and show them that I am ready to join Kaizer Chiefs," revealed Mmodi.
"My first time being here was a great feeling for me, I felt welcome, especially from the players because they knew me before I came here and they knew what I bring to the team. I really enjoyed myself.
"I was nervous because playing for Kaizer Chiefs is a lot of pressure.
"I grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs, but I never thought that was something that would happen, so it's a dream come true for me. I always have to thank God for what He's done for me," he added.

'Monate waiketsetsa', as he is affectionately known, scored four goals and made four assists in 2023/24 and was among the club's top goal contributors in what could be considered a dreadful campaign for the Glamour Boys.
One of those goals was a long-range effort that would be voted Goal of the Month.
"The best goal from this season is the one I scored against Stellenbosch. That's the standout for me."
Chiefs are currently in Turkey for pre-season and will return to South Africa for towards the end of July ahead of a Toyota Cup clash against Young Africans of Tanzania, which match takes place on 28 July.
