Chiefs star responds to Nabi criticism...

Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has responded to the somewhat controversial comments made by head coach Nasreddine Nabi, emphasizing on a need for players that are of the side's level after a draw against TS Galaxy in December.

It was on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw on 16 December that Nabi, speaking in the post-match interview, said he wanted players of Chiefs' level in future.

"It's true, we feel that up top we have the same kind of players, players who like to dribble, to play short spaces, but we lack a little bit of power, players who can shoot.

"We need to get those kind of players in the future. I want players of the level of Kaizer Chiefs, honestly," Nabi said on SuperSport TV.

Those comments were taken by some sections of the football community to be somewhat critical of the current group of players at Naturena.

Msimango, who played no part in that encounter, spoke to media as part of the club's Durban activation and was asked what he believed the Tunisian-Belgian mentor could have meant by those words.

"To be honest, I think that question is (should be) directed to him per se. As a player, I can only do what I'm employed to do for the club," Msimango told journalists.

"The people that brought me in this club believe in me as a player and I believe in myself.

"So, any other comments besides Given's comments, I think those [questions] should be directed to the coach. He can maybe elaborate better on what he meant by that."
