In the latest edition of our feature Story Behind My Nickname, KickOff catches up with former Kaizer Chiefs striker Fees Moloi on the origin behind his nickname "School Fees".
Who and where did you play?
"I played for QwaQwa Stars, I went to eThekwini to play for Manning Rangers, I then went to Kaizer Chiefs, I then went to Ria Stars, then Santos, Bloemfontein Celtic, Fidentia Rangers, AmaZulu and retired at African Warriors.
"I didn't want to stay in one club for too long because I wanted to make money, hence I wanted to move while still hot.
"I played for 16 years I was 37 years old when I retired."
What's your nickname?
"Growing up my nickname was Chippa Chauke. But in my PSL career, I was known as School Fees."
Who gave it to you and why?
"It was SuperSport commentator Zama Masondo. I guess he was fooling around with my real name Fees."
Did you like it?
"Remember a nickname will stick if you hate it. So, I decided to keep it."
Anyone that didn't use it?
"Most would call me Fizozo, some Fistos. I just accepted everything."
If you relive it, what would you want your nickname to be?
"Phuthuma. Remember I used to be fast on the pitch. I'm always in a hurry even now."
